  • I, the Foster Care provider named above, understand that G. I. Wishes, its members and representatives, have no way of guaranteeing the actions or dispositions of any dog or cat released to them and placed in Foster Care with ffre. I understand that every effort has been made to assess the disposition of animals released to G. I. Wishes beforehand, however any animal may act unpredictably in any given situation and that I as the keeper of the animal must take necessary precautions to prevent accidents and guard against unpredicted behavior by said animal. Furthermore, I promise to take adequate care of the dog or cat while it is in my possession providing food, water and shelter as needed as well as affection and socialization. I promise to notify G. I. Wishes if the animal is in need of any veterinary care such as vaccinations, routine testing and refill of heartworm preventative or treatment of illness so that care can be provided in a timely manner. At no time will I allow any dog in my care to become a nuisance to people or other animals. When not with me or a member of my family the dog will be confined in a fenced yard, kennel run or crated inside my home or garage. When off my property,, the dog will be kept on leash. If fostering a cat,I understand that it must be kept indoors at all times. If applying for Foster Care for a deploying veteran,I understand that the time period will be considerably longer than for an animal that is up for adoption. Deployment periods could run from 5 months to 18 months and I willingly accept hose terms. If the dog or cat that is in my care is up for adoption, I understand that I must make the animal available to prospective owners for viewing for possible permanent adoption. I will under no circumstances release an animal in my care without approval from G.I. Wishes. Adoptable animals are the property of G. I. Wishes and may only be released to a new home after an adoption application has been received and approved by the G. I. Wishes board. I understand if I fail to follow the above procedures and release a G. I. Wishes animal in my care or fail to release back a G. I. Wishes animal, whether up for adoption or in Foster Care for a deployed veteran, I am subject to legal recourse.
